The terms on which these pages are read

Lanka Rate Board is an independent editorial desk that republishes rates from named public sources. This page states the limits of those figures, the desk's responsibility, what the site earns, and what a reader must decide alone.

Information, not advice

Every figure on this site is a measurement of a published source, taken at a stated date and hour and republished with its source named and linked. The desk does not add a forecast, a recommendation or an opinion to any figure. A rate tells a reader what something cost at the moment it was read; it does not say what a reader should buy, sell or hold.

Nothing on Lanka Rate Board is investment advice, a recommendation or an offer. The figures describe what things cost, not what a reader should do. A reader who acts on any figure does so on their own judgement and carries their own result. The desk cannot know a reader's position, needs or risk, and it does not ask.

The limits of the measurement

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka publishes an indicative rate that is the average of the previous business day's interbank deals. The banks' buy and sell quotes are what a customer is offered at the counter. The distance between those two quotes is what a bank earns on a dollar. This site republishes those figures as they are, with the date and hour they were read.

The figures carry the limits of their sources. A published rate can be revised later in the day, and a bank's counter rate can differ from the indicative rate. The desk reads the sources at fixed points and cannot promise that a figure is still current when a reader sees it. A reader who needs a live price must ask the bank or broker directly.

The desk's responsibility

Responsibility for what appears on this site sits with the Lanka Rate Board editorial desk. The desk reads the named sources at set times, checks that a figure has not frozen or contradicted another source, and publishes what it found. When a figure is wrong, the desk corrects it and dates the correction.

The desk is not a broker, not an exchange, not a licensed adviser, and it holds no client money. It does not answer questions about what a reader should do, and it does not give opinions on the direction of any rate. Its only promise is to show its work: a source, a date and an hour for every figure.

How the desk earns and what it collects

The site links to one broker, FxPro, through an affiliate link. If a reader opens an account there, the broker pays this site a commission. The reader pays nothing to this site and nothing extra at the broker. This relationship does not change any figure on the site, and the desk does not write about the broker's products.

The site has no accounts, no login, no newsletter and no comment form. It sets no cookie of its own, runs no analytics and stores nothing in the reader's browser. The hosting provider keeps its own technical request logs, as any web host does, but the desk does not read a reader's personal data out of them. Writing to editor@lankarateboardlk.pages.dev reaches the desk; corrections are the reason the address exists.
